We get alot of people who sign up, but very few who contribute.
That's a shame, but I guess its part and parcel for the way things go. The answer might be simple, since alot of us fled another website and its rules, its been different. Since alot of the "fun" ended here, alot of people come by to gawk at the bullshit.
The problem is, that's not gonna fly.
OTFF isn't here to provide amusement for you, well..it is... and us, but not just you (or us*). Its supposed to be a mutually beneficial sort of thing.
So, with that said, start posting. Its not hard to make a post here. Start a random thread about bullshit. Add on to one of the long winded threads about beer, or the song forum, or whatever.
The sooner you wade in, the sooner you can start. You'll never learn all the stupid jokes (by the time you've figured them out, we've got new ones), the people are pretty much what you make of them, and above all you're expected to at least make some token attempts.
And if you can't, you'll be deleted. Period.
Except regular purges of the userlist. Expect warning of them, but its going to happen. Not of people who post precious content, but of the freeloaders who log in constantly, but can't be assed to give a thing back.
* - Maybe just us. The jury's out.

It was probably deleted. We've established a "lurker policy," which is simple enough: Post something you fuckin' leech.
Seriously, we're not an exclusive club, but can I suggest that within your first few days you roll your sleeves up and make with the content. It doesn't take much, post an intro thread. Keep it simple, make it ornate, doesn't matter, just make it.
If your account's been deleted (and not banned), just re-create it... and then make with the content. I can assure you that failure to do so will simply get it deleted again.
And repeat offenders may very well be banned.
The purge is complete. |
